(Minneapolis, MN)— Minnesota record label, Tyrol Hills Music, best known for its popular ‘Minnesota Morning’ CD series, has released a new music video for the song, “Minnesota Morning” as a part of Minnesota's 150th anniversary celebration.
Label founder Jim Foltz says it all started in 1987 and 1988 when they released the song, "Minnesota Morning" by Jeff Brooks. People connected with the song. Since its release, the song has earned a national ASCAP award, logged sales of over 100,000 units, continues to be performed by choirs statewide and continues to be a listener favorite on radio stations including KNXR in Rochester and KLKS in the Brainerd Lakes area. The video for the song is available for viewing on YouTube and http://www.minnesotamorning.com.
Foltz explains the label is ready to move to the next level. Besides releasing the new video, the label has signed popular Twin Cities singer, Robert Robinson. Robinson has toured nationally with pianist Lorie Line and performs extensively on his own.
“I’ve always believed that Robert is one of Minnesota’s greatest musical treasures,” Foltz adds. “He has the ability to sing from the deepest part of his heart.”
Robinson’s CD is a transition for Tyrol Hills Music. The 8 CD’s in the ‘Minnesota Morning’ series have featured instrumental versions of popular standards and classics. Now with the new project, the label is expanding into projects that feature vocalists.
“Robert’s CD will be released in April. It is different than our other releases, but it fits with our mission,” Foltz says. “It will be available in many Hallmark’s and gift stores throughout Minnesota and beyond.”
